The acupuncture treatment consists on the application of filiform needles (as thick as a human hair) in the animal's body. Generally, needles are left in place aproximatelly for 15 to 20 minutes, before being removed.
Before the begining of the treatment the animal should be placed in the most adequate position, in a confortable place.
BIOPUNCTURE/ AQUAPUNCTURE
In these treatments, rather than just putting a needle at the acupuncture point, a small amount of liquid is introduced in it, through a thin needle.
Depending on goal desired for each treatment, different substances may be administered.
LLLT – Low Level Laser Therapy
LLLT Lasers have interesting properties in the healing process and regeneration of tissues, biostimulation of the skin and underlying structures, analgesia and control of pain and inflammation, among others.
They can also be used in the stimulation of acupuncture points, the so-called "laser acupuncture," especially useful in very skittish animals or those that do not tolerate well the introduction of needles.
EA (ElectroAcupuncture)
With electroacupuncture an electrical stimulus is used for the stimulation of acupuncture points.
Electrodes are applied in the needles placed in selected points, and a current is applied, with controlled frequencies. This technique can be used in a wide range of diseases.
HOMEOTHERAPY
Homeotherapy is a generic name that encompasses several types of treatment that use homeopathic products.
Different approaches can be used for these treatments such as injections, oral administration or the application of topical products (eg lotions, creams, drops, etc.) according to whichever is more appropriate in each particular case.
BACH FLOWER REMEDIES
Bach flower essences are presenting themselves on dilutions equivalent to homeopathic dilutions.
Their use is particularly interesting in the balance of emotions and mental.
MOXIBUSTION
The application of heat over acupuncture points has specific and beneficial effects in certain diseases. This application can be made directly on the acupuncture point or through the cable of the needle previously applied on the desired point.
It can be made in rolls which then are lighted and applied over the acupuncture points, to allow the desired heating effect over the point.
This technique should not be held in a small or closed room due to the intense and particular odor that the combustion of this herb brings.
CHINESE HERBS
The use of herbs is one of the main therapeutic approaches of the Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of diseases.
Where necessary in our protocols, we integrate chinese herbs, which can be administered in drops or tablets, depending on the prescription and / or patient's preference.
ORTHOMOLECULAR THERAPY
The use of micronutrients such as minerals, vitamins and trace elements is important in the rebalancing of many different functions, whether in times of illness, or to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Its use is increasingly important nowadays.
PREBIOTICS/ PROBIOTICS
The prebiotic and probiotic approaches consist in the regulation of intestinal health with the aim of promoting good absorption of the essential nutrients supplied in the diet and contribute in a very important way to a healthy immune system.
Several diseases can be improved with the use of an appropriated probiotic therapy and the establishment of a food and bowel hygiene .
NMES (NeuroMuscular Electrical Stimulation)
This is also a technique that uses the application of a controlled current over the needles, which in turn, are placed in different muscle groups, accordinglly to which groupe one wants to act upon.
The purpose of this technique is related to strengthening and muscle development and its application is more expressive in treatments of physiotherapy and physical rehabilitation.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical NeuroStimulation)
With this technique the application of electrical current is carried out mainly over electrodes that are placed over the skin, called transcutaneous application.
With this approach one seeks to achieve and promote analgesia and control of pain often associated with orthopedic or neurological conditions and diseases.
